Country Gongbang
Founded in 2014, Country Gongbang is South Korea’s first and only bluegrass band, blending the traditions of American bluegrass with Korean musical influences and original songwriting. Performing in both English and Korean, the quintet has become a global representative of Korean bluegrass, creating a sound that bridges cultures while remaining deeply rooted in the genre.
Recognized by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) with an International Band Performance Grant, Country Gongbang has earned international acclaim for its artistry and groundbreaking work. Their landmark U.S. tour included a historic debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, making them the first Korean band ever to perform on the legendary stage. The band was also nominated for the IBMA Momentum Awards for Band of the Year and Vocalist of the Year, further cementing their place in the global bluegrass community.
Through dynamic performances, exceptional musicianship, and heartfelt storytelling, Country Gongbang continues to introduce audiences around the world to a fresh and distinctive vision of bluegrass.
The band features Yebin Kim (mandolin, lead vocals), Hyunho Jang (banjo), Jongsu Yoon (fiddle), Sunjae Won (guitar), and Keeha Song (bass).
